How to choose your route into Saudi Arabia

The decision turns on three questions: will you sell and invoice inside the Kingdom, who directs the team day to day, and is the work open-ended or a project with an end? The answers tell you whether you need a Saudi entity now, or whether a provider running the function is enough.

  • A managed service is the lightest start: no entity and no capital, but it does not invoice in your name or place staff under your direction.
  • A limited liability company is the usual route for firms selling in the Kingdom, with liability limited to its capital.
  • A branch suits a defined project, but the parent company carries full liability for it.
  • A regional headquarters is for groups managing their regional companies from Riyadh; it does not sell to the market itself, so an operating company sits beside it.

Frequently Asked Questions

It asks short questions about invoicing Saudi clients, how many people will work for you in the Kingdom, whether you need to direct them day to day, your regional scope, government contracts, project length, timing, sector and home country. It then recommends one of four routes: a managed service from a Saudi provider, a foreign-owned limited liability company, a branch of a foreign company, or a regional headquarters, and compares all four side by side. The result is free guidance, not legal advice.
